Winter's Canvas

This series captures the unique patterns of a half-dried glacial river in Iceland during winter. With little thawing, only remnants of brown and blue water remain, weaving through areas of dark volcanic sand covered in ice. Much of the shoreline is frozen over, blending ice and sediment into abstract formations. The interplay of ice, snow, and sediment creates a striking contrast. I was drawn to the monochrome aesthetics and the intricate textures shaped by the season’s stillness.
