Volcanic Remnants
This aerial series explores ancient volcanic craters in Iceland’s remote highlands—landscapes shaped by fire and erosion over millennia. Wet sand creates stark contrasts against red volcanic rock, revealing fine textures that remain hidden in dry conditions. From above, the terrain resembles lunar surfaces or distant planetary landscapes, both raw and surreal in appearance. The absence of vegetation amplifies this otherworldly mood. These images reflect a sculptural beauty shaped by time and the elements, offering a glimpse into the geological memory of one of Earth’s youngest and most active regions.
