Glacier Ice: A Macro Perspective
This series focuses on close-up views of floating glacier ice in an Icelandic lagoon. Seen from a short distance, the surfaces reveal intricate textures, trapped air bubbles, and unexpected color variations—ranging from clear to white, and even to earthy tones caused by the surrounding glacial water.
The lack of scale and familiar reference points makes it easy to forget that these are fragments of ice. Some images resemble stone, glass, or organic material. These photographs explore the visual complexity of glacial ice, shaped by compression, melting, and sediment over time.
