Frozen Colors of Winter (Part 2)
This series explores the intricate beauty of frozen landscapes in the Sachsenwald forest near Hamburg. Captured over the course of four years, the images reveal delicate ice formations, trapped air bubbles, and submerged autumn leaves, transforming ordinary winter scenes into abstract compositions. Some photographs were taken at creeks, small ponds, or frozen moorlands. The diversity of colors and textures is shaped by the surrounding vegetation, creating a surprising range of tones and patterns.
It is especially rewarding to discover such landscapes close to home—sometimes, a frozen puddle on a muddy field holds just as much visual fascination as a remote winter destination.
