Skeleton Leaves
This series focuses on the delicate remnants of fallen leaves slowly breaking down on the forest floor. Photographed in woodland areas near Hamburg, Germany, the images reveal the intricate vein structures and subtle textures that emerge as leaves decompose. I’m fascinated by the quiet transformation taking place—how something entirely new begins to emerge, day by day, through decay and dissolution. Some of these fragile forms endured until the first snow of winter.
Each leaf becomes a silent record of change, shaped by time, weather, and microbial activity—revealing a beauty grounded in both fragility and persistence.
