Roads of the North

A diverse photo series on roads in Iceland at all seasons of the year. The series shows a selection of photos taken over a period of five years in different places on the island, from the remote highlands with challenging dirt roads to the more frequented asphalt roads of the south coast and greater Reykjavík area.

I was fascinated early on by the isolated connecting paths through the empty and surreal landscape of Iceland, and several motifs were used in advertising backgrounds due to the calm atmosphere.
