Hurtigruten Cruises
Photo series about the Hurtigruten cruise along the Norwegian coast, seen from the oldest vessel in the fleet, the MS Lofoten. The ship was commissioned in 1964 and is named after the Lofoten archipelago, which lies just north of the Arctic Circle.
Hurtigruten ships sail almost the entire length of the country and complete the round-trip journey between Bergen via Geiranger to Kirkenes and back to Bergen in only 11 days. The voyage makes 66 calls at 34 different ports and covers a total distance of 2,545 nautical miles (4,716 kilometres). The photos show the diverse and dramatic landscape during the late summer months.
