Insomnia
Antarctic Peninsula

Insomnia
This series was created during a sailing expedition aboard the historic tall ship Bark Europa, along the Antarctic Peninsula. It reveals a different side of the region—an Antarctica in a state of tension, far from the calm vastness and soft light found in many of my other series. Dramatic light defines the atmosphere: shifting clouds, mist, and low sun create an interplay of menace and fascination. The landscape feels both monumental and fragile, shaped by fleeting moods and shadowed tones.
Ice, rock, and water merge into abstract compositions that reflect a restless, almost uneasy beauty. With its subdued palette of deep blues, greys, and muted earth tones, this series offers a more turbulent, wakeful view of the world’s southernmost continent.
